Hi everyone, and welcome In this episode, I have the pleasure of speaking with Judy Tennant , the founder and executive director of Parrot Partners, a charity and rescue dedicated to the well-being of parrots. When I first learned about their work, I knew I had to get in touch and share their story.

I found this conversation incredibly informative, and I want to thank Judy Tennant for taking the time to speak with me. When we think about animal rescue, we often focus on dogs, cats, and small animals. It is easy to forget that other animals are also in need. Parrots, in particular, face unique challenges.

Judy Tennant BA, B.Ed, M.Ed
Executive Director, Founder

Thirty years experience in the fields of business, education and human/animal behaviour. Member in good standing with The International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE). Shelter Affiliate with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IAABC). Judy is responsible for implementing the strategic plan and overseeing the administration of Parrot Partners.  She reports to and works closely with the Board of Directors.

Parrots are frequently exploited, trafficked, and passed from one home to another. Because of this, many of them end up in very difficult situations. When that happens, organizations like Parrot Partners step in to help. They rescue parrots in need and provide them with proper care and safety.

Parrot Partners also works to rehabilitate parrots that have developed behavioural issues. These behaviours are often the result of stress, neglect, or abuse. I am especially impressed by their Parrot Pension programme. It is a groundbreaking initiative, and I hope it continues to grow and succeed.

Parrot Partners continues to advocate for parrots in need. They work hard to change a system that has failed these birds. Most importantly, they do everything they can to protect and care for them. You can learn more about their work by visiting their website at parrotpartners.org.

Thank you again to Judy Tennant for sharing her time and insights. As I always say, knowing is caring.
